How to Pressure Fonadu in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth

Chadley’s intel gathering is one of the most appealing exploration aspects of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, perfectly completing his tasks can be frustrating, especially when you encounter unusual enemies that require a different approach to pressure.

In Fiend Intel 1: Cacophonic Corvid in Junon, one of the requirements to fully complete the intel objective is to pressure Fonadu, one of Tonadu variant in FF7 Rebirth. To learn how to pressure Fonadu, find the answer in this article.

How to Pressure Fonadu in FF7 Rebirth

If you use Access Materia on Fonadu, you’ll find that elemental weakness is not pressuring them, instead the only way to apply pressure is by evading their attacks.

But one question arises: how? What kind of attack should we evade? The special attack Fonadu uses against us is called Death from Above, and players must simply evade it to immediately pressure Fonadu.

Exploiting their weakness with wind elemental attacks will cause them to use ‘Death from Above’ more frequently. Make sure to evade at the right moment, as ‘staggering’ the enemies is one of the objectives of the intel.

Failing to evade means you will need to hit them again, which will decrease their health and potentially kill them before you can stagger them. If that happens, you can always hold the triangle button to restart the fight.

If you successfully stagger Fonadu, you won’t need to worry about the quest timer, as they can be easily defeated after being staggered.

Note: Quickly utilize abilities that can induce stagger when you successfully evade their attack, such as Cloud’s Focused Thrust, Barrett’s Focused Shot, and Tifa’s Focused Strike, to maximize the speed at which the gauge fills. Good luck!
