How to Level Up Fast in Persona 3 Reload

Level grinding in RPGs like the Persona series can be a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, it’s super satisfying to see your characters go from weak to strong, unlocking new abilities and taking on tougher foes. It feels great to watch your hard work pay off!

But on the flip side, grinding can get pretty boring. Repeating the same battles over and over, especially in turn-based games, can feel like a chore. It’s like running on a treadmill—you’re making progress, but it can be a bit mind-numbing.

That’s why some players look for hacks or easier ways to increase their levels. If you’re a Persona 3 Reload player looking to improve your protagonist’s level to unlock stronger new Personas or just to make the game a bit easier—this article is perfect for you!

How does Experience Shared in Battle?

In Persona 3 Reload, the experience you earn after a battle is divided among all your party members, including yourself. For example, if you earn a total of 200 EXP in a battle, each of the four party members will receive 50 EXP.

Since experience is divided among party members, you’ll earn more EXP with fewer members in your party. This can be a useful strategy if you’re looking to farm levels or help lower-level members catch up!

Additionally, it’s something to keep in mind if you want your main character to reach the highest levels possible for fusing more powerful Personas!

Law of Diminishing Return

One of the most important things that not all players know is that the experience points (EXP) system in Persona 3 Reload uses a diminishing returns model. This means that the amount of EXP you earn is influenced by the levels of your party members in relation to the enemies you defeat.

If your character’s level exceeds that of the Shadow, you’ll only receive a portion of the total EXP available, and this fraction decreases as your level rises. To maximize your EXP gains, it’s essential to target Shadows that are at a similar level to your characters to take full advantage of the experience rewards.

Rare Shadows

Rare Shadows are special types of enemies that provide significantly more experience points (EXP) compared to regular Shadows. You can identify them easily because they appeared on the map as a gold and red dot, making them so much easier to farm.

There’s a neat trick in Persona 3 Reload for farming Rare Shadows. When you enter or re-enter a floor in Tartarus, a new set of Rare Shadows will spawn, even if you’ve already defeated them.

Head to the top of a Tartarus Block, use the teleporter to return to the start of that Block, and then take the Shortcut to climb the floors until you see a gold-and-red dot on the map. This method lets you quickly check for Rare Shadows without having to explore each floor extensively.

Additionally on floors 5 and above, every Shadow has a small chance to become a Rare Shadow. While it ultimately comes down to luck, you can improve your odds by purchasing a Rarity Fortune or a Gamble Fortune from the Fortune Teller in Club Escapade. This can help you find those Rare Shadows more consistently!

Utilize the Great Clock

When you level up on your own in Persona 3 Reload, there’s a chance that your teammates may fall behind in levels. This can become problematic when facing higher-level enemies, as under-leveled characters may struggle in battles.

To help your teammates catch up, you can utilize the Great Clock. Starting in July, you can encounter something called the Great Clock while exploring the upper floors by spending Twilight Fragments throughout Tartarus.

This service is extremely valuable because, unlike in Persona 5, inactive characters in Persona 3 Reload never gain experience. Your main character will always be ahead of some SEES members since they are always in the active party.

Shuffle Cards

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t recommend choosing Wands in the Shuffle Cards, but if you’re really desperate, it can be a viable option this time. Wand cards provide a bonus percentage of EXP for that battle.

After you defeat a Shadow, there’s a chance that Shuffle Cards will appear (guaranteed if you finish them with an All-Out Attack), giving you the opportunity to select a Wand to help level up your characters, especially when you defeat a rare Shadows.
